Fantastic things come in tiny chewy packages with Atomic Energy Chews

There were two kinds of energy chews out there. The kind that is nasty as all hell and make you vomit a little in your mouth just thinking about it. The second kind is like a stale Starburst chew, decent enough but not something you would go out of your way to eat ( function first, taste later). Well now there is a third option - Atomic Energy Chews, the tastiest group of chewy treats I have ever had.

If you want the caffeine but really don't want to deal with anything that tastes subpar, this is where to go. I would and have eaten all three flavors just for the awesome taste alone -- and actually felt a little disappointed there was caffeine - because I wanted to eat more and more of them. But there is a definite boost to be found - especially if you eat a whole box at a time.

To put it bluntly, these little candies are a super tasty treat. If you like your caffeine to come in little squares, these are absolutely a Must-Buy. They come in five knockout flavors, a Lemon Lime, Fruit Punch, Orange Raspberry, Cinnamon and a Mocha crunch. While all are tasty, I want to take a moment and recognize two of the best caffeinated candies I have ever tasted, Cinnabomb and Mocha Crunch.

With a lucky friend ( I did not hand these flavors out to just anyone - they are worth hoarding) we tried to pin down the flavor of this, and finally remembered back in our young brains the flavor and texture of Sweet's Cinnamon Bears - a treat from waay back. These are the perfect spice to sharpen your senses and powerful enough to have you popping the whole six pieces in very rapid succession.

The best flavor though, without question is the mocha crunch. Now, if someone were to mention to me the idea of adding crunchy coffee pieces into a chew, I would run the other way. But it works here - really works. It reminds me of a Nestles Crunch Ice Cream bar, only coffee flavored. This is crunchy and chewy and just plain amazing. Just trust me. Eat it.

It is a good thing there is only 25mg-30mg of caffeine in each piece, as it is all too easy to eat 6 or 7 of these without even thinking about it. IT also has a bunch of Vitamin B to help you humming. While One or even two don't do much, eating 5 or 6 of them will get you very very buzzed. Another nice thing is that with all the chewing, the caffeine is absorbed in your mouth without having to be digested, so it hits you a whole lot quicker than digesting it would.

The designs for the chews are just plain awesome. These designs are very cool - and way over the top - just as something named "atomic energy" should be. It unwraps very very easily from the plastic, and does not stick to anything but your teeth. If I could suggest one thing, it is that the package is a bit more like "livewire energy chews," that have harder edges so they don't get so smooshed in your pockets. Also, although they do list that 3 candies equal one energy drink , it would be much nicer to know exactly how much that is, since caffeine in energy drinks are all over the place.
